Show & Tell Gallery

So these are the two 16"x16" pieces for the Show & Tell Gallery in Toronto in August.
40% Done. Bad picture- it yellowed them. The under painting is my favorite. Now to stare at them and wait for them to dry for three days.
I'm coughing blood D: Bronchitis sucks.

60% Next to clear gesso, glazes, acyclic, more drawing D: It won't be so contrasty/patchy

Alice and Kenny

Been sketching today, so my hand obeys me better. Something is strange with either my paper or leads, they are too slippery. I ran out of Stonehenge so I've been using Bristol vellum, yuk.

This is one of two sketch for the next gallery show for the "Kids are Alright" tour. It's about body image, culture, and gender. The second one will be a male figure, and I'll just let you figure out what each animal and object represents. The finish will include abstracted painted text (these are to go on large wood panels and painted). Imagine them looking like the "Virgin" piece I had done a bit ago.

And here is an Odin cause I haven't whored him in a bit. (Oh and look he finially makes an apperance in my art, hes been bugging me a while to draw him in a finish).

*Edit*
And the boy... I need to go back over it with a sharper edge. Hate this paper.

Coming Of Age

Finally finished this darn thing(s). You can see in the pictures before and after butchering. I was pissed, but I'm just letting it go.
I also put color on, this is how these pieces would look if I had my way, but the gallery show is specifically black and white on paper. Enjoy. Does no one comment on my blog anymore? I don't feel the love :(

I wanted to actually go into what this is about. Bare with me. This is a coming of age piece. The left represents the female struggle, and the right, the male's struggle. Female side deals with birth, loss of innocence, sexuality, menstruation, life, etc. Male side deals with the phallic struggle (phallic tentacles v.s. phallic knife), abjection, urges/sexuality, death, etc. I could say a ton more, but I hate spelling it out. In real life I talk about my work with more grace, but its 3:30 am and I have to get up at 7....

(P.S. No artwork is complete without Odin's butt having been on it.)

Oh and this too.

This is from way back in April. This was a show in SoHo, organized by Twin Q. We drew live on camera to a few tracks of a selected artist in their studio, then the show was in Manhattan on my birth date.
I really need to hire someone to keep track of this stuff. I'm so aloof and reclusive :(

You can download each one, I'm Chelsea Greene Lewyta, duh. http://files.rabbitcontent.com/TWiN_Q_Department/
