Shows and Jealousy

My two shows this October as are followed:

The opening is Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at 8:30am and runs until Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 9:00am.

The opening reception is Saturday, October 17th, 2009 in the Project Room.

Here is the finished flamingo piece titled "Jealousy". It is Graphite, Oil, and colored pencil on handmade cotton rag paper. 12"x12" once I cut the boarders off. I'm going to matte it to black foam core and cut down the white since the show has specifications for size. This is going to the last show in the touring TKAA group exhibition.

And my color sketch on my drawing for the last show in the TKAA tour. I'm going to do the mermaid piece for something else, it requires a longer frame. Poor flamingos...



Productive day.

Doodles and Wips

I have two shows coming up in October. When they post some internet fliers or whatever you call them, up, I'll post them here. I have so much work to do, I'm just sort of sketching to clear my head and make sense of things.

For the last piece in the touring TKAA show I want to do this blueish green scene with creepy mermaids and snow white drowning children caught in fisherman's nets. I did this quick mermaid doodle and digital color sketch. I feel more prepared for the piece. Waiting on what size I can do it at...

Anlter Room Sketch

Personal piece, working title "The Antler Room". Good luck deciphering this one. I plan to paint the interior greenish-blue and have the leaves outside a burning red/orange. I love Autumn...




By the way. I drop little art history references in my works sometimes. The girl with the long hair's feet are a tribute to one of my favorite pieces of all time, Manet's Olympia. This is a horrible print, you can't even see the cat.
